About Us

If you are not sure what you want to do when you leave school or college, then consider a role in surveying. The following pages will provide you with loads of information on equipment, further education options, CV’s of people that have already entered the profession. Some are at the beginning of their careers, one is nearing the end, but what they all have in common is a love of the life of a surveyor. We have also included a few basic surveying terms and expressions and a few very useful links for further information.
The Survey Association (TSA) is a trade body representing the most important and influential surveying companies in the United Kingdom. Its members, in excess of 100, are spread around the country and vary in size from one employee to 150 employees.
Members of TSA undertake all types of surveying from major motorway construction to the renovation of historic monuments. Some companies use satellite imagery and technology to help them produce mapping whilst others use photography to assist the police with their detection work. Surveying is not just about measuring from one point to another, it is about making a difference to the world’s environment.
